Maybe you know about theme and plugin development, or perhaps\u00a0you&#8217;ve created\u00a0a great platform using WordPress.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-251 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/2017.bern.wordcamp.org\/files\/2017\/03\/sonja-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bern.wordcamp.org\/2017\/files\/2017\/03\/sonja-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/bern.wordcamp.org\/2017\/files\/2017\/03\/sonja-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/bern.wordcamp.org\/2017\/files\/2017\/03\/sonja-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/bern.wordcamp.org\/2017\/files\/2017\/03\/sonja-450x300.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>All\u00a0topics and ideas are welcome: we only ask that you follow these guidelines when choosing your topic.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your proposal should be related to WordPress, or immediately applicable and relevant to our WordPress audience.<\/li>\n<li>Your proposal should be respectful of the WordPress community, the <a href=\"https:\/\/2017.bern.wordcamp.org\/code-of-conduct\/\">WordCamp code of conduct<\/a>, and the GPL.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Format<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Lightning talk: 10 minutes<\/strong>, without a question round.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Long-form talk:\u00a030 minutes<\/strong>\u00a0including a question round.\u00a0You should plan to complete your talk in about 25 minutes, with approx. 5\u00a0minutes at the end for questions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Panel: 30 minute<\/strong>\u00a0discussion amongst up to four people, all answering questions from the audience about a specific topic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Workshops:\u00a0about an hour each<\/strong>,\u00a0in the form of sessions run\u00a0by an instructor covering a specific topic within WordPress.<\/p>\n<h2>Language<\/h2>\n<p>You are welcome to give your talk either in German or English, it&#8217;s up to you. Your talk may reach a wider audience if you present in English, as we expect to welcome attendees from all over Switzerland and the rest of Europe.<\/p>\n<h2>Submission deadline<\/h2>\n<p>The deadline is\u00a0<strong>23rd June 2017\u00a0<\/strong>at midnight. We will inform all applicants by\u00a010th\u00a0July whether their proposal has been accepted or not.<\/p>\n<h2>Apply as a speaker<\/h2>\n<p>Do you have a topic you would like to talk about? Great! We are looking for a great and diverse speaker submission pool. Both new and experienced WordCamp speakers are welcome to apply.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t be shy: you don&#8217;t need to be an expert, a programmer or a designer to submit a proposal!
